Today chemicals are considered at many international fora, including UN, OECD and APEC. These fora can offer the regulator and industry various tools for the sound management of chemical products in order to reduce the risks of negative impact on human health and the environment. In addition, international venues are aimed at harmonizing various requirements, including the GHS. Participation in these processes in the early stages, as well as the use of existing tools, could reduce non-tariff barriers to trade and reduce the costs of enterprises to obtain data on the properties of chemicals and their regulation.
